“Smart City – experience and shape urban development” - mySMARTLife event during European Week in Hamburg

As part of the European Week in Hamburg, mySMARTLife partner konsalt organised an event on 7 May 2019 with the motto “Smart City – experience and shape urban development”. Over 60 participants followed the invitation to the Competence Center for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (CC4E) of Hamburg University of Applied Sciences (HAW Hamburg) in Hamburg-Bergedorf.

Johannes Mielchen from Bergedorf presented the first results of the mySMARTLife project to the participants while Dr. Sandra Meyer and Prof. Dr. Werner Beba informed them about the HAW project Norddeutsche Energiewende 4.0 (NEW4.0), an innovation alliance from the regions of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein for the energy system of the future. Dr. Stefan Höffken from the Landesbetrieb Geoinformation und Vermessung (Agency for Geoinformation and Surveying, LGV) spoke about a real-time geodatabase for the City of Hamburg. The second part of the event was led by Simona Weisleder (konsalt). A tour to the Competence Center for Renewable Energies and Energy Efficiency (CC4E) was offered, and the LGV provided a digital touch screen to showcase the latest state of ICT in Hamburg. The event was rounded off by a Virtual Reality Walk, where the project area of mySMARTLife in Bergedorf could be experienced with the help of Virtual Reality glasses.

On the one hand, the focus was on increasing the public interest in the mySMARTLife project and urban development, and on the other, presenting new virtual interaction options in city planning.
